Clyde Martin Dies; Rites Set Tuesday
Clyde C. Martin, 83, Estherville, died at 5:35 p.m. July 14, 1973, at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Christian Church, Estherville, with the Rev. Fred Sawyer officiating. Burial will be made in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Martin was born Jan. 30, 1890, in rural Emmet County to James and Idella Martin. He was educated in rural schools and married on Nov. 25, 1914, to Marie Lyman in Estherville. He farmed until 1960 when he retired and moved into Estherville, where he was a member of the Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marie; one son, Fred Martin, Estherville; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters, Leonard Martin, Portland, Ore., Glen Martin, Sherburn, Mrs. Ruby Carson, Polson, Mont., and Mrs. Ilah Lytle, Fontana, Calif.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother and one sister.
Pallbearers for the services will be James Martin, Craig Martin, Mike Houge, Gary Karlstad, Elmer Henningsen and Clarence Monk. Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home at any time today and Tuesday morning. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 16, 1973)
