Pioneer Found Dead on Farm
Heart Failure Attack is Fatal
William Luikart, 75, was found dead at 5:30 Tuesday [July 9, 1929] afternoon at the Albert Irwin farm, one half mile from Huntington. It is believed that he had an attack of heart failure while riding a corn plow, and fell off as the horses were still going.

Mr. Zelmer happened to be going past and noticed the team backing up and the plow without a driver. He found Mr. Luikart under the plow, and his fact trampled by the horses’ hoofs. A physician was called who said that Mr. Luikart had evidently died before he had fallen off the plow.

Mr. Luikart was a respected pioneer of Emmet county. He and Mrs. Luikart lived several years on a farm north of Estherville. Besides his grieved widow, he is survived by two children, Mrs. Agnes Steele of South Dakota, and Clem Luikart of Minneapolis.

Definite funeral arrangements have not yet been made, but services will probably be at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon at the Baptist church, in charge of the Rev. F. Yearnd. (Estherville News, Estherville, IA, July 11, 1929)
