We are glad to report Mr. Martin Lee on the road to recovery from his hard spell of sickness. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, December 25, 1895)

Martin R. Lee Dead
M. R. Lee died at his home in this city at 2 p.m. Tuesday [December 24, 1895] of lung fever. He had been in failing health for some time and for the past few weeks was known to be seriously sick. Mr. Lee is an old settler of the county, having lived near Swan Lake for many years. He was an old soldier and had many friends throughout the county. He was about 65 years of age. The funeral service occurred Christmas day from the Episcopal church. (Emmet County Republican, Estherville, IA, December 26, 1895)
