Mabel Hurst Succumbs; Services Set Saturday
Mabel Clara Hurst, 82, Estherville, died at 7 a.m. Jan. 10 in Holy Family Hospital, Estherville.

She was born April 14, 1891 in Adair County to Elvin and Ethelda Rice and educated in Adair County Schools. She taught schools in Maple Hill for several years and was married to Joseph William Hurst on Aug. 21, 1912 in Estherville. He died in January 1959. Mrs. Hurst was a member of the First Christian Church.

She is survived by two sons, Francis Hurst of Lake Nebagamon, Wis., and Everett Hurst of Estherville; six grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Viola Davis, Solon Springs, Wis.

Preceding her in death were her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church with the Rev. James Harmon officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
