Was Former Resident of Estherville
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal church for Albert Howard House of Verndale, Minn., who formerly lived in this city. His unexpected death, following a stroke, occurred Saturday [January 17, 1930 per MN death index] afternoon. Burial was made at Oak Hill cemetery.

Albert Howard House was the son of Sarah and Lucian House and was born in Clinton county October 23, 1869. He moved to Carrol county with his parents when he was three years old and lived there until 1887 when the moved to Emmet county. He married Miss Lillie Hewitt on February 24, 1885, two years before they came to this county. They lived here for eight years and then moved to Verndale, Minn. One daughter, Goldie, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Merle, of Roxana, Ill., and three sisters, Mrs. Grave Herkley, of Marion, Mrs. Zetta Tuel of Coon Rapids, and Mrs. Clara Fellows of Milford.

Mr. House joined the Modern Woodman of America during his residence in this community afterwards transferring his membership to Verndale. He was fond of lodge work and was highly esteemed in Woodman circles. (Estherville News, Estherville, IA, January 23, 1930)
