Burton Hornby Dies After Long Illness Monday
Burton Hornby, who made his home with his brother, Harry Hornby, passed away last Monday [August 16, 1937] after a long illness. He was 41 years of age at the time of his death.

Funeral services were held from the Harry Hornby home on Wednesday at two o’clock, the rev. F. W. Ortmeyer officiating. Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery.

Mr. Hornby leaves to mourn his death two brothers, Harry and Richard of this city and two sisters, Mrs. Chas. Slininger of Twin Valley, Minn., and Mrs. Blanche Gorton of Pasadena, Calif. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, August 19, 1937)

Burton Hornby Dies at Home of Brother Monday
Burton Hornby, 41, who has been ill for several months, died Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the home of his brother, Harry Hornby, east of Estherville where he has lived for the past three years.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon at the Hornby home, at 2:30 with the Rev. F. W. Ortmeyer in charge.

Mr. Hornby is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Gorton, of Pasadena, Calif.; and Mrs. Charlie Flininger [Slininger] of Twin Valley, Minn. Also two brothers, Harry and Richard Hornby of this place. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, August 17, 1937)
