Ex-Resident Dies
Mrs. George (Carrie) Holmes, former operator of a grocery store in Estherville, died Tuesday at Riverside, Calif. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Fuhrman Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dick Pearson of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Saturday Rites to Be Conducted for Ex-resident
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville for Mrs. George (Carrie) Holmes, 81, Riverside, Calif., a former resident, who died Monday afternoon in California.

She is survived by two children, Carl D., Minneapolis, Minn., and a daughter, Mrs. Ernest (Marguerite) Gilliam, Riverside, Calif.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Mair, Fairmont, Minn., and one brother, William Duff, Scranton.

Friends may call Friday evening until time of services on Saturday. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Dick Pearson officiating. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 8, 1970)
