Death of Chas. Hite
Chas. Hite died at his home in Twelve Mile Lake township Saturday, May 1st, of consumption. Funeral was held from the Presbyterian church in this city Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Edward Campbell. Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery.The funeral was in charge of the Odd Fellows, of which organization he was a highly respected member. He was also a member of the working lodge of Wallingford. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, May 5, 1909)
Raleigh – Chas. Hite, after a long illness, passed away at eleven o’clock Saturday morning. Funeral was held at Estherville Tuesday at one o’clock. Mr. Hite was a well respected neighbor and all his friends will miss him. Our heartfelt sympathy is extended to the bereaved family. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, May 5, 1909)
Two brothers, dying within one week and from the same disease, pulmonary tuberculosis, forms a sad record in an old family at Gilman. Albert Hite of Gilman, 34 years old, died Monday and his brother, Charles passed away at Estherville last week. (Algona Courier, Algona, IA, May 21, 1909)
