Herman W. Hageman, 61, Dies Suddenly
Herman W. Hageman, Estherville plumber, died suddenly at 3:10 a.m. today of a heart attack at his home. He was 61.Mr. Hageman was born July 24, 1890, in Stamin, Germany and traveled with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Henry Hageman, to Warrenton, Mo., when 16 months old. He came to Iowa at the age of 19 and lived in Storm Lake and Huntington. He moved to Estherville July 2, 1928, where he opened a produce station, a harness repair shop and then became a plumber.
He married Clara Hintz [?] Feb. 4, 1914.
Surviving his death are his widow, two children, Ronald and Mrs. Tone (Frances) Kately, both of Estherville, a grandson, Kerry Hageman, four brothers, Fred of Moberley, Mo., Walter of Portland, Ore., William of Estherville, Albert of Huntsville, Mo., two sisters, Mrs. Otto Martens of Sherburn, Minn., and Mrs. Lewis Krier of Estherville.
His parents and two brothers, Henry and John, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Sternborg chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home from Saturday morning until time for services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 11, 1952)
