Mrs. Fred Hintz [Doris Fogte] Died Last Friday
Lived in This Community for Many Years – Was Born in Schleswig, Germany
Mrs. Fred Hintz died at her home on the west side last Friday [September 19, 1919] morning after an illness lasting several months. She had been afflicted with Bright’s disease and it was known to her relatives that she could not recover from the disease. Mrs. Hintz had been a resident of this community for many years and was well and favorably known to many of our people. They formerly lived in this city, but moved to a farm south of town several years ago. About a year ago they again moved to this city on account of her failing health.

Mrs. Hintz was born in Schleswig, Germany, on March 17, 1846. She came to this country in 1877 and was married the same year. Besides the husband she leaves one son, Louis, who resides at home, to mourn the loss of a good wife and mother. We join the many friends in extending sympathy to the sorrowing loved ones in this hour of grief.

Funeral services were held from the home on the west side last Monday afternoon, Rev. Andreae in charge. Burial was made in the Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, September 24, 1919)
