Lester “Hap” Heyer Dies at Age 66
Lester “Hap” Heyer, 66, died at 1:17 a.m. today at Holy Family Hospital. He suffered a stroke Thursday evening and had been hospitalized since that time.He was born February 8, 1902, at Cushing, to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Heyer. He moved to the Estherville area as a young boy with his parents and attended Estherville schools.
He was married Oct. 17, 1928, to Vivian Kessler at the Little Brown Church near Nashua.
He was a Mason and a member of Elks Lodge and went through all offices of Elks and was an exalted ruler. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian, daughter, Nadine, (Mrs. Ronald Orluske), Minneapolis; two grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Willard of Estherville, L. C. Heyer of Kansas City, Mo.; Gladys (Mrs. George Booth), Estherville; Irene (Mrs. W. L. Reed), Estherville; and Vera Heyer, San Antonio, Tex.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Rev. H. Allen Wirtz officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home from 4 p.m. Wednesday until time of service. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 6, 1968)
