Maurice Houts
Estherville – Funeral services for Maurice Houts, 65, Scranton, S.C., have been rescheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the Union Baptist Church, Estherville, with the Rev. Fred Sawyer officiating. He died Monday [August 16, 1976] at his home in Scranton.

Friends may call at the Henry Funeral Home, Estherville. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include his widow, Barbara Lorraine, Scranton; two sons, David Houts, Sturbridge, Mass., and Michael Houts, Fort Madison; five daughters, Mrs. Harlan (Florence) Harris, Remsen; Mrs. Howard (Sandra) Cupples, Newton; Mrs. Barbara Miller, Estherville; Mrs. Robert (Faydeane) Willardson, Jackson, Minn.; and Mrs. W. C. (Marcia) Sauls, Scranton; 26 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother, Kelton Houts, Sioux City; and one sister, Mrs. Charles Baker, Estherville. Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Harris, Remsen, were Aug. 19 and 20 guests at the Roy Harris home. They were here to attend the funeral of her father, Maurice Houts. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Haris came Friday evening to visit at the Roy Harris home. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 31, 1976)
