Dolliver-Services for Rex D. Riggs, 70, of rural Dolliver who died Friday,December 23, 1988 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Sioux Falls, S. D., will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 1988 at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville with the Rev. Ernest Gafkjen of Calvary Gospel Assembly officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville with military services by the Estherville VFW and American Legion Posts. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 to 9:00 Wednesday.

Rex D.Riggs was born March 5, 1918 in Estherville to Cecil and Lelia (Lela) Mae (Bullis) Riggs. He was educated in the Estherville schools and later joined the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. On June 12, 1942 (1943) he married Vivian Hiles at Ft. Hancock, N. J. and after the war the couple returned to Estherville and operated Hancock (Riggs) Sinclair Service until 1966 when they moved to Norwalk, Calif. Rex was employed by the city of Norwalk until 1978. After his retirement the couple divided their residence between Dolliver and Apache Junction, Ariz. Since Vivian's death in 1982 he has lived in rural Dolliver.

Survivors include a son, Kevin Riggs of Brea, Calif.; three daughters: Mrs. Allyn (Doreene) Hansen of Dolliver, Kollette Riggs of Austin, TX., and Mrs. David (Denise) Rustige of Norco, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Doris Dahna of Estherville; and twelve grandchildren.

Mr. Riggs was preceeded in death by his wife, Vivian, his parents and one sister, Dorothy.
