Old Pioneer Woman Passes to The Beyond
Mrs. Nikoline [Erickson] Hanson was born in Land’s congregation, Norway, May 31, 1842. She came to America in the year 1857. She lived in Allamakee County for a time. She was married to Ole Hanson year 1864 and this union was blessed with eight children four girls and four boys. Mr. and Mrs. Ole Hanson came to Emmet county, Iowa, 1865 where she has liven since. Her husband, Mr. Hanson, died the 5th day of March, 1907 and since that time her son Christian L. Hanson has stayed with her and taken care of the farm. A short time ago she was taken ill and died the 17th day of November 1921. Mrs. Hanson was at her death 79 years, 5 months and 16 days old. Mr. Enoch Hanson was also by her bedside during her sickness and death.

Those to mourn the loss of a dear mother are: Mrs. Jensen, California; Mrs. L. B. Rokne, Cakota, Minn.; Mrs. A. O. Bergeson, Lieo, Albert, Canada; Enoch Hanson, Estherville; Lamuel Hanson, Estherville; Amos Hanson, Halfa; Christian Hanson, Halfa. Mrs. Geo. Anderson, her daughter, passed to Beyond before her.

The funeral services were held on Monday, Nov. 21, at the home. A host of relatives, friends and neighbors had met to pay the last tribute to Mrs. Nikoline Hanson, who had always been kind and good hearted to one and all whom she had come in contact with. A beautiful floral tribute was given both by the children, relatives and friends. Rev. T. Hanson conducted the funeral services. She was laid to rest in the High Lake cemetery where also her husband is buried, there her body will rest until resurrection morning when all shall be called forth and stand before their Lord and God.
