David George Dies
Funeral services are pending for David George, 72, Estherville, who died at 9:15 this morning at Holy Family Hospital from a stroke. Reese-Henry Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 25, 1970)

D. M. George Rites Scheduled For Saturday
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Reese-Henry Chapel in Estherville for David Morgan George, 73, Estherville. George died at 9:25 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Family Hospital as a result of a stroke. He had been hospitalized since last Monday.

He was born Nov. 26, 1896, at Oskaloosa to Mr. and Mrs. David George. He was educated in Oskaloosa schools. He moved to a farm in Dickinson County with his parents as a young man. He served with the Army in World War I.

On Oct. 8, 1924, he married Gladys Ruckman at Arnolds Park. Following his marriage he farmed near Estherville until 1932 when he moved to Estherville. He was employed by the city of Estherville until his retirement in 1958. He was a member of the World War I Barracks of Estherville.

He is survived by his wife Gladys of Estherville, one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Mabel) Moser of Mason City; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Hill of Chesterfield, Ind., and Mrs. Janette Wiley of Lakefield, Minn.; and three brothers, Harry of Panora, Lloyd of Ringsted, and Edward of Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four sons.

The Rev. Ed Tabor will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today until the time of services.

There will be military graveside services. Pallbearers will be Virgil George, Merlin George, Gary George, Roger George, Russell George and Donald George. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 26, 1970)
