Neighbors Would Help With Funeral Expenses
Subscriptions papers were circulated last week among Emmet county friends of Fritz Frerichs who wished to assist them in the heavy expense occasioned by the sudden illness and death of Mrs.Frerichs. This former Emmet county woman whose parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edo Andressen live near Dolliver was stricken suddenly with obstruction of the bowel and died at her home two miles north of Emmetsburg a week later. All possible medical and surgical care was given.

Funeral services were conducted last Monday by Rev. W. E. Wagner of the Emmetsburg Lutheran church at the Immanuel German Lutheran church, Estherville.

Elsa Marie Frerichs, nee Andressen, was born November 18, 1902, in Germany. She was also baptized there. While she was still a child she came to this country with her parents.

In the year 1922 she was instructed and confirmed in Immanuel Lutheran church of Estherville. In February, 1933, she married Fritz Frerichs of Dolliver.

The following survive to mourn her death; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edo Andressen; her husband, Fritz Frerichs who resides two miles north of Emmetsburg; four children, Edwin, age 11, of a previous marriage, Christina 6, Marvin 4, and Allen 2; three sisters, Mrs. John Deling of Dunnell, Minnesota; Mrs. Wm. Knefner of Truman, Minn.; and Mrs. Melvin Hockett of Estherville. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, August 8, 1940)

The Emmetsburg Reporter adds: Mrs. Frerichs was stricken suddenly one week ago Sunday while preparing to attend church services at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran church. She received immediate medical attention and was operated on Wednesday evening for an obstruction of a bowel. Her strength ebbed gradually, she became weaker and weaker, and finally on Saturday morning, July 27, she passed away. (Reporter, Emmetsburg, IA, August 1, 1940)
