Mrs. Flindt is Called To Reward
Well-Known Woman Had Been Ill for Several Years; Funeral Services to Be Held Saturday p.m.Mrs. Gilbert Flindt, well known Estherville woman, died at her home on North Fifth street at 8:45 a.m. today, after an illness that had been critical only since Sunday. She had been a sufferer with kidney trouble for a number of years and death was caused by uemic poisoning.
Mrs. Flindt was born Clystia Lucretia Mudge on March 21, 1885 at St. James, Minn. She came to Estherville as a child of nine years with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Mudge. This city has been her home since that time and she was married here on Feb. 25, 1903 to Gilbert Flindt.
Two children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Flindt, Ella Flindt who lives and Des Moines and Loretta, Mrs. J. A. Stevens of Estherville. There are five grandchildren. Mr. Flindt passed away a few years ago.
One brother, Freeman Mudge of Chicago, and two sisters, Mrs. Thelma Ryder of Burlington and Mrs. Ruth Cart of Mason City also survive the passing of this highly esteemed woman.
Funeral services as now planned will be held on Saturday afternoon. Short prayer services will be conducted at one-thirty at the Mahlum and Anderson chapel with the full service at the Christian church. Rev. F. D. Sawyer will be in charge. Interment will be made in Oak Hill cemetery. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, December 7, 1939)
