Mrs. Fanter Dies at 76
Mrs. William (Maude) Fanter, 76, of Estherville died at 10:15 p.m. Sunday at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville. Death was attributed to a lingering illness.

She was born Aug. 2, 1887, in Lake Fremont Township in Martin County, Minn., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Winberg. She received her education in Lake Fremont Township schools.

In 1906 she married William Fanter at Dunnell, Minn., and the couple farmed in the Dunnell area until 1943 when they moved to Estherville. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, a son, Luvern, of Estherville, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Ruth Fagin of St. Petersburg, Fla., also survives.

Preceding her in death were two sons, a daughter and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. W. H. Discher, officiating. Family services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Burial is to be at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Reese Funeral home from 6 p.m. Tuesday until time of services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 27, 1964)
