Mrs. Lille Evans Dies After Illness
Mrs. Lille Mae Evans, 81, a cook in Estherville restaurants for many years, died early this morning at the Cherokee state hospital. She had been in failing health for six months.

She was born Feb. 11, 1884, in Rochester, Minn., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Huntsinger. Coming to Estherville as a baby, she received her education in Estherville schools.

In 1903, she was married to James Evans here. Mrs. Evans was a member of the Christian Church.

Survivors include one son, Morton, of Estherville; three daughters, Mrs. Della Winnerman of Versailles, Mo., Mrs. R. M. (Dorothy) Edwards of Spirit Lake and Mrs. Lawrence (Marion) Chrestiansen of Estherville.

Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Nelle Cook of Algona, Mrs. Jesse Madden of Austin, Tex., and Mrs. Rose St. John of Fairmont, Minn.

Her husband, parents, five children, one brother and one sister preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Reese Funeral Home, Rev. Howard O. Wakelin officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. Sunday until time of services Monday. The casket will not be open following the final rites. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 7, 1966)
