Nils Eriksen Dies at 76
City Resident for 43 Years
Nils Eriksen, 76, died about 6 a.m. this morning at Holy Family hospital. Death was attributed to heart attack suffered Saturday complicated by pneumonia.

Ericksen [Eriksen] made his home with his daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Schutt in Estherville.

A native of Norway, the deceased had made his home in Estherville for about 43 years, where he worked all that time on the Rock Island railroad. He had worked at car repair, bridge work and on the section.

He was born May 1, 1874, near Bergen and received his education in Norway, later marrying Oestensa Petersen of Norway before coming to the United States to live. He was a member of the Lutheran church in Norway and in Estherville attended the Estherville Lutheran church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Alfred Petersen of St. Paul., Mrs. Lyle Hartin of Albert Lea and Mrs. Sydney Schutt of Estherville, and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife who died 19 years ago.
