Mrs. Ellison, Former Local Resident, Dies
Mrs. Anna Ellison, 65, former resident of Wallingford and Estherville, died Monday [May 7, 1951] afternoon at a hospital in Burbank, Calif., after a short illness. Cause of death was a gall bladder infection.Anna Soeffing Ellison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Soeffing, was born April 14, 1886, at Wallingford. She was educated in the Wallingford schools and in 1922 moved to Estherville. She lived here until 1949 when she moved to Burbank to live with a son.
She was a member of the Iowa Congress of Seventh Day Adventists.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robert Beatty and two sons, Robert and Romaine Ellison, all living in Burbank. There is one granddaughter. Two sisters, Mrs. Emma Cook of Bergman, Ark., and Mrs. Albert Christopher of Wallingford and a brother, Albert Soeffing of Wallingford also survive.
When word of Mrs. Ellison’s death was received in Wallingford no funeral arrangements had been made, but it is expected that burial will be in California. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 8, 1951)
