Duggleby Rites Saturday
Funeral rites for Septimus Duggleby will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Sandin Funeral Home. Mr. Duggleby died at Los Angeles, Calif., and his widow is accompanying the body to Estherville. The Rev. K. M. Martin of the Spencer Congregational church will officiate at the funeral service. Estherville Masons will conduct graveside services. Duggleby Rites Saturday
Funeral services were held Saturday for Septimus Duggleby, 75, former resident of Estherville and Spencer, who died earlier in the week in West Los Angeles, Calif. Born in England, Duggleby was a meatcutter by trade. He was a son-in-law of the later Schaefer family of this area, prominent stock raisers in the early part of the century. He is survived by his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Gilmore of New Orleans; a son, Dr. Wayne Duggleby of Los Angeles and a brother, Simpson Duggleby of Davenport. Members of the local Masonic lodge conducted burial rites at the Schaefer family lot in Oak Hill cemetery. Services were held at the Sandin Funeral Home with the Reverend Trickey, former Congregational minister at Spencer, officiating. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 25, 1955)

Septimus Duggleby Dies at Age of 77
Funeral services for Septimus Duggleby, 77, former Hawarden resident, who died in Los Angeles, were held Saturday at Estherville, Iowa. The Estherville Masonic lodge had charge of the services at Oak Hill cemetery in Estherville.

Mr. Duggleby was well known in Hawarden. He was employed as a meat cutter in the Council Oak store in the late 1940’s.

Mr. Duggleby was born in England. He became a member of the Davenport, Iowa, Masonic lodge in 1904.

Survivors are the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Gilmore of New Orleans, La.; a son, Dr. Wayne Duggleby of Los Angeles, Calif., and a brother, Simpson Duggleby of Davenport. (Hawarden Independent, Hawarden, IA, April 28, 1955)
