Funeral Rites Held for Charles Cole – Burial at Clinton
The stores of the city were closed on Tuesday afternoon for an hour during the funeral services of Charles Cole, 65, who passed away of pneumonia on Saturday afternoon at the Coleman hospital.Mr. Cole caught a cold some three weeks ago and it develop into pneumonia about two weeks ago. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. His age and condition was against him and he passed away Saturday.
Mr. Cole had been a plumber in this city for many years. He acquired the building where the Western Union is located and some city property. He was a painstaking worker and enjoyed a fine business.
The funeral services were held from the Sternborg Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon and the remains were taken to Clinton for burial. He is survived by a wife and one daughter. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, October 25, 1933)

Stricken Suddenly With Pneumonia – In Business Here Nearly 20 Years
Chas. Cole for nearly 20 years a business man in Estherville died at a local hospital Saturday afternoon at two-thirty. He had been ill for a short time with pneumonia with which he was stricken suddenly.Mr. Cole had been in the plumbing business in Estherville for nearly 20 years coming here from Clinton. His first contract in this city was the plumbing and heating work in the Rhodes block. He was born at Cairo, Ill., but most of his early life had been at Clinton. His sister and her family reside there and his body will be taken to that place Wednesday for interment in the family lot.
Private funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at the Sternborg funeral chapel. Business houses will be closed from two-thirty until three thirty during the hour of service as a mark of respect for the deceased man.
Mr. Cole is survived by his wideo and one daughter, Miss Elizabeth of Minneapolis. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, October 24, 1933)
