Final Rites Today for G. Anderson
Funeral services were held this afternoon for George Anderson, 79, of Spirit Lake. The Rev. George Six officiated.Burial was at Oakhill Cemetery at Estherville.
Mr. Anderson died Saturday evening at the Dickinson Memorial Hospital.
He owned and operated the Anderson Grain and Feed Elevator at Montgomery until his retirement to Spirit Lake. He lived in Estherville for many years before going to Montgomery.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel, one son, Burt of McAllen, Tex., one grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
George Lyman of Estherville, brother-in-law of Mr. Anderson and his sons and daughters-in-law, Mrs. and Mrs. John Lyman and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lyman, attended the funeral services this afternoon.

George H. Anderson, 79, died April 6 at the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital following a lingering illness. He was a longtime manager of the grain elevator at Montgomery.Funeral services were conducted by the Harpole-Tenold Funeral Home on April 9 from St. Alban’s Episcopal Church. Father George Six was in charge of the service. Mrs. Delbert Bauman served as organist. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery at Estherville. Pallbearers were Leon Collins, C. C. Chalstrom, Steve Oliver, Don Johnson, Harold Frank and Leonard Jacobsen.
Mr. Anderson was born on Nov. 26, 1888 in Iowa to Burt B. Anderson and Lydia Harrington Anderson. He was preceded by his parents. Survivors are his wife, Hazel; one son, Burt, of McAllen, Texas; one grandchild; one brother and several nieces and nephews. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, April 11, 1968)
