Aged Man is Called
Geo. Coulson, 84, for 58 Years Resident of Emmet Co. Buried WednesdayGeorge L. Coulson died at his home Sunday evening following a long illness. He had been in bed for the past seven months. He was 84 years of age.
Mr. Coulson was born December 15, 1858 in Illinois. On December 25, 1881, he was married to Hattie Goodge of Sioux Rapids. They lived at Armstrong for 48 years and for the past 10 years have lived in Estherville.
He was a member of the Methodist church.
Surviving him are his widow; a son, Roy Coulson of Harris; a daughter, Mrs. Claude Johnson of Estherville; three brothers, Jess Coulson of Minneapolis, Bert Coulson of Jeffers, Minn., Ed Coulson of Las Vegas, Nevada; three sisters, Mrs. John Goodge of Des Moines; Mrs. Lizzie Ellis of Wright, Minn., and Mrs. R. H. Ridley, Estherville.
He is also survived by three grandchildren, Mrs. Art Quinn of Armstrong, Mrs. Lester Payne of Des Moines and Mrs. Nels Anderson of Armstrong; thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services were held yesterday at 1:30 at the home and at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church. The Rev. F. W. Ortmeyer officiated. Burial was in the Oak Hill cemetery. (Vindicator & Republican, Estherville, IA, August 5, 1943)
