Funeral Was Held Yesterday
Burial Was Made in Oak Hill Cemetery – Had Lived in Estherville Eighteen Years

Marietta Josephine Conley, mother of Mrs. A. Anderson, died at the home of her daughter Monday [August 9, 1909] evening at 11 o’clock, after a lingering illness. She had been ill the past eight years, but the past two years she has been in a very bad condition.

The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at the Dr. A. Anderson home, Rev. Richard Ellerby officiating. Burial was made in Oak Hill cemetery.

Marietta Conley was born in St. Lawrence county, New York, April 8th, 1836 [per cemetery records 1834]. She was married to John W. Conley, January 1st, 1857. Only one child born to this couple is living, Effie, wife of Dr. A. Anderson. Mrs. Conley has lived in Estherville since 1891, making her home with her daughter. She was a very lovable lady and numbered her friends by her acquaintances. As she has been ill the past few years Mrs. Conley has not mingled much with the people of Estherville. Her death removes a dear one from the home and an estimable lady from the community.
