Mrs. Rene Chambers
Estherville – Mrs. Rene F. Chambers, 85, Estherville, died early Sunday [March 20, 1977] at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville. She had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center here for the past three years.

Services for Mrs. Chamber will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Presbyterian Church here with the Rev. Harvey Throop officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, after 9 a.m. Tuesday until 10 a.m. Wednesday, when the body will be taken to the church.

Mrs. Chambers was born March 28, 1891, in Martin County, Minn., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Weir. She received her education in rural Emmet County schools and married Elmer M. Chambers April 12, 1911, in Huntington.

The couple farmed in the Estherville, Huntington and Alpha, Minn., areas until her husband’s death in 1974. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Chambers is survived by one son, Harold Miller, Alpha, Minn.; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruby Nichols, Estherville; and one brother, Ray Weir, Estherville. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 21, 1977)
