Park M. Brubaker Dies Today
P. M. Brubaker, 614 North Seventh street, retired Rock Island engineer, died suddenly at his home today shortly after noon. He has been in poor health for the past two or three years since suffering a stroke but it was thought that he was improving in health.

Just last Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Brubaker observed their golden wedding anniversary. They had spent their entire married life in Estherville except for a short time when they lived at Dows.

Other than his widow, Mr. Brubaker is survived by one daughter, Mrs. L. E. (Arlene) Peterson of Peoria, Ill., and two granddaughters, Nancy and Joan Peterson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Sternborg’s Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Thomas G. Melton officiating. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 3, 1956)

Last Rites Held for Retired R. I. Engineer
Funeral services for Park Martin Brubaker were held Thursday at 10 a.m. in Sternborg’s Funeral chapel, the Rev. Thomas G. Melton officiating. Pallbearers were William G. McIlwraith, William Hamilton, Hugh McTavish, Ray Bryan, V. A. Mortenson and William Swift. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery.

Mr. Brubaker died Tuesday at his home at 12:30 p.m. of a heart attack. He had been in poor health for the past few years as a result of a stroke.

Born July 24, 1879 at East Salem, Pa., the son of Jacob and Amanda Brubaker, he received his education there.

He was married June 30, 1906 at Thompsontown, Pa., to Laura Dimm. The Brubakers observed their golden wedding anniversary Saturday with an “at home” to a small group of relatives and friends.

Mr. Brubaker was an engineer for the Rock Island railroad from the time of his marriage until his retirement on July 1, 194. He and Mrs. Brubaker spent their entire married life in Estherville with the exception of a short time when they lived at Dows.

Survivors, in addition to his widow, include one daughter, Mrs. L. E. (Arlene) Peterson, two granddaughters, Nancy and Joan Peterson of Peoria, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. John Lilley of this city; one sister and five brothers, all living in Pennsylvania, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Out-of-town relatives here for the funeral include Mr. and Mrs. Rupert Brubaker, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Brubaker, all of Dinsdale; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brubaker, Miss Ruby Brubaker, all of Traer; Mrs. Joe Dedic and Mrs. Shirley Hendershot, both of Waterloo.
