Friends of Frank M. Brockway were grieved last week when the news reached here from Watertown, S. Dak., that he had become afflicted by a stroke. The first of the week relatives were called to Watertown as it was known the end was near. Some of the relatives reached his bedside before death. Mr. Brockway passed away as he has lived among us, in a quiet peaceful manner.

Mr. Brockway was an active member in the A.F. & A.M., the Modern Woodman and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He was also actively affiliated with the Methodist Church of this city.

He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, two daughters; Mrs. Edna Lawrence of Philadelphia, Pa., and Miss Helen at home; three grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Moore, Coneville; Mrs. Lulu Kern, Des Moines; five brothers, Jay G. and Judd M., both of Estherville; James of Coneville; Chester of Herndon, California; Willard of Chicago.

The funeral services were held from the home at 2 p.m. today and from the Methodist Church at 2:30 P.M., the Rev. W. A. WinterStein officiating. The remains were laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery.
