Graveside rites to be held for Mrs. Chas. Thomas
Graveside services for Mrs. Charles Thomas, a former longtime resident of Estherville, will be Wednesday, April 21, at 3 p.m. at the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Thomas died Sunday, April 18, at a home at Cresco, after several years of illness due to advanced age.

She will be remembered as the former Mrs. F. M. Brockway, and spent most of her married life here. Mr. Brockway was an engineer on the Rock Island Railroad. He died in 1931.

Several years later she was married to Charles Thomas of Chester. They lived in Estherville for several years, and later moved to Chester. Mr. Thomas died several years ago.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Melton (Helen) Salisbury, East Moline, Ill.; Mrs. Edna Lawrence, San Jose, Calif., and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 19, 1971)

Chester – Services for Mrs. Stella Brockway Thomas, 92, who died Sunday morning in a Cresco rest home, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Lindstrom Funeral Chapel in Lime Springs, burial in the Oak Hill cemetery in Estherville; survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Merton Salisbury of East Pauline, Ill., and Mrs. Edna Lawrence of San Jose, Calif.; seven grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren; friends may call at the funeral home in Lime Springs after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
