James Boyle Died Sunday
Relatives here received word of the death of James Boyle, aged around 76, Estherville, on Sunday, April 22. Funeral services were held yesterday and burial made at that city.The Boyle family formerly lived at Elgin. Mr. Boyle was a brother of Frank Boyle, who died April 19.
Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Boyle went to Estherville Tuesday night to attend the funeral. (Elgin Echo, Elgin, IA, April 26, 1945)
James Boyle Dies at Estherville
James Boyle, 71, of Estherville, a former resident of West Bend and father of Mrs. John Schurg of this place, passed away at his home in Estherville on Sunday, April 22.Mr. Boyle had been in failing health for six years but death came suddenly.
Funeral services were held at the Sternborg funeral chapel in Estherville last week Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Arthur Bottom was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Oak Hill cemetery.
Mr. Boyle, who was born August 25, 1874, in Elgin, Ia., was married to Louisa Kohler in 1900. The couple lived at Elgin until 1915 when they moved to West Bend and in 1923 moved to Estherville where they have made their home since.
Five children were born to the couple. Della died in infancy and survivors are Mrs. John Schurg of West Bend, Mrs. Roy Loveland of Estherville, J. W. Boyle of Williamsfort, Pa., and Mrs. Archie Morton of Fairmont, Minn. There are also 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Other survivors include three sisters, Anna of West Union, Lizzie of Dubuque and Mrs. Mary Foley of Arkansas City, Kans.
Those present for the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. John Schurg and Ruby Mae of West Bend, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Loveland of Estherville; Mr. and Mrs. Archie Morton and family of Fairmont, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Kohler, Mrs. Arnold Wilderman, Mrs. R. G. Wilson and Mrs. Chas. Schurg of West Bend; Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Boyle of Elgin, Ia.; Mrs. Della Falb of Waterloo; Simon O’Neill of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Lloyd Luchsinger of Graettinger and Mrs. Francis Haar of Milford.
