Rites Tuesday for Hattie Beaver, 91
Hattie Elisabeth Beaver, 91, Estherville, died about 5:30 a.m. Sunday at the home of her daughter of infirmities of advanced age. She had been in failing health for the past four years.Hattie Elisabeth Armagost was born July 27, 1876 in Dallas County, to Mr. and Mrs. Elias Armagost. She received her education in Dallas County schools.
She married Harvey Beaver in 1895. Following their marriage the couple farmed in Dallas County until 1915 when they moved to a farm on the north side of Four-Mile Lake.
Mr. Beaver died 11 years ago.
Until recently, Mrs. Beaver had made her home with a son, McKinley, on the home farm.
For many years she was a member of the Four-Mile Lake Club and the Christian Church.
She is survived by seven sons: Melvin, Myrl, McKinley, Floyd (Shorty), and Howard, all of Estherville; Charles, Fenton; and Lloyd, Linwood, Calif. Five daughters, Mrs. Martin (Kathryn) Burkholder, Fort Dodge; Mrs. Derly (Hazel) Stone, Fort Dodge; Mrs. Walter (Erma) Dean, Lincoln, Neb.; Mrs. Cecil (Margaret) Seeliger, Spirit Lake; and Mrs. Norris (Dorothy) Lee, Estherville. Also 22 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Maggie Simpson, Dallas Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Mary, one brother and one sister.
Family services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Christian Church, followed by public services at 2 p.m., Rev. Rawlin Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
