Huntington
Seldom has the community been so shocked as it was last Thursday when it became known that Mrs. Barth had received a sudden stroke. Lew on coming home for dinner found her unconscious. Help was secured at one and Dr. Birney made a record trip to relieve the sufferer. Mrs. Larson, a nurse is in attendance. Mrs. Barth’s daughter, Mrs. Rymer from Graettinger arrived at 4 p.m. Freddie Henmen has charge of the work on the farm. Mrs. Barth is holding her own. All sympathize with the family in this affliction. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, February 22, 1922)

Mrs. Louis Barth
Addie J. Seely was born at Mable, Minn., on March 5, 1880, and at an early age removed with her parents to a farm four miles northwest of Huntington where she lived till joined in marriage with Mr. Louis Barth, on December 16, 1896. To this union was born Iva Mae, now Mrs. John Reimer of Graettinger, Iowa. Mrs. Barth, following her marriage has spent her life in this community except three years at Greene, Iowa, immediately following her marriage.

Mrs. Barth had recently been in the hospital at Estherville but on returning home seemed somewhat improved and it was with a shock to the community that they learned of her death. On February 16, she was taken with a stroke of paralysis and quietly slipped away at 9:55 Sunday [February 19, 1922] morning.

She joined the church at twelve years of age and has since been a most faithful worker in the Ladies Aid and church work, doing all that her strength would permit. Though quiet and modest yet an influence for good in her community, she was a maker of friends and true to her God.

Services were held at one o’clock Wednesday by Rev. J. W. LaGrone and interment was made in the Estherville cemetery.

She leaves to mourn her a faithful husband and a dutiful daughter, Mrs. John Reimer of Graettinger, Iowa and little grandson, Ronald; her aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. Seely and sisters, Mrs. Lamb of Bismarck, N.D., Mrs. Ella Payne of Huntington, Iowa, Mrs. Etta Celley Selfridge, North Dakota, and brothers Mr. Lant Seely, Pretty Rock, North Dakota, Mr. Walter Seely, Elliott, North Dakota and a host of loving friends. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, March 1, 1922)
