H. C. Ahrens Interment at Oak Hill
Henry C. Ahrens, 62, former resident of Estherville, died at Samaritan Hospital in Minneapolis Oct. 3, 1972.Services will be held Friday at Staples, Minn., where he resided, after which the body is to be brought to Estherville for interment at Oak Hill Cemetery. Graveside services are to be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the cemetery here with the Rev H. Allen Wirtz officiating.
Mr. Ahrens was born near Wallingford [1911] and grew up in the area. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ahrens, who were farmers. He married Carmelita Lytle of Estherville in March of 1930. They made their home at Estherville, where Mr. Ahrens was employed by the Rock Island Railroad, until 1950, when they moved to Staples. He was a railroad employee and lived at Staples until the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife, Carmelita; one son, Dennis of Staples; three daughters, Mrs. Don (Donna) Brobst of Estherville, Mrs. Darrell (Florine) Cline of Rudolph, Ohio, and Mrs. Patricia Kujawa of Staples; 15 grandchildren; a brother, Frank of Grinnell; four sisters, Mrs. Ivan Timmons of Estherville, Mrs. Ada Powers and Mrs. Hulda Morrissey of California and Mrs. Nancy Alexander of Des Moines.
