Mrs. Wilson Rites Set
Funeral services for Mrs. M. E. Wilson, 85, who died unexpectedly about noon Saturday [March 31, 1956] of a heart attack suffered at the Fareway Store, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Presbyterian church, the Rev. Thomas G. Melton officiating.

Friends may all at Sternborg Funeral home this afternoon and evening. Mrs. Wilson’s body will be taken to the church tomorrow morning to lie in state until time of services. Burial will be at Oak Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Wilson was born at Sparta, Wis., and graduated from the Sparta high school. She later graduated from Normal school at Winona, Minn., and then came to Estherville to teach in the local schools.

While teaching here she met and was married to the late Dr. M. E. Wilson, well known Estherville physician.

Mrs. Wilson had received her 50 year pin as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, had served as worthy matron of the order and was very active in the order from the time she joined until her death.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. A. J. (Dorothy) Rogers of Chicago, Ill. and Mrs. Hoyt (Maybelle) Quinn of Houston, Tex., a sister, Mrs. John Bradley of Sparta, Wis. and a brother, Robert Jones of Rockford, Ill. Her husband preceded her in death 25 years ago. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 2, 1956)

W. Thomas of Minneapolis, Minn.; cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Heinrich and daughter, Louise of Mankato, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. W. Holmes of Orleans and Mrs. Linn of Spirit Lake.
