Mrs. Hermann (Lulu) Wiese, 81, died Monday [September 20, 1971] afternoon at Good Samaritan Center, where she had been a resident for several years.Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Reese-Henry Chapel in Estherville. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Va. Hauck of the Union Baptist Church will officiate.
Mrs. Wiese was born April 30, 1890, to Jacob and Mary Snyder of Estherville. She received her education in the Estherville schools, graduating in the 1910 high school class. She taught school for a short time before marriage.
On Nov. 20, 1910, she married Hermann Wiese of Estherville. She was a member of the Union Baptist Church and of the VFW Auxiliary in Estherville. Her husband, an engineer on the Rock Island railroad, died May 21, 1967.
Survivors include two sons, Ben C. Wiese, Hartley, and H. Max Wiese, Chattanooga, Tenn.; one daughter, Mrs. John (Leota) Sparks, Davenport; three grandchildren, Jane and Ben Wiese and Curtis L. Dickinson; and four great grandchildren.
