Rites Friday
Funeral services for Gilbert G. Wheatley who died at his home Tuesday [November 28, 1944] morning will be held Friday at 1:30 from the Nelson Wheatley home and at 2 p.m. from the Estherville Methodist church. The Rev. Cecil J. Semans will officiate and burial will be in the Oak Hill cemetery. Gilbert George Wheatley was born at Coldwater, Mich., March 24, 1857, and came to this community in 1900. He has one brother, J. N. Wheatley, living in Miami Fla. He is also survived by one son and three daughters. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, November 30, 1944)
