Mrs. Gustave (Caroline) Thorn, 79, Estherville, died at 4:55 p.m. at the Good Samaritan Center. She had been in failing health for the past three years.She was born Oct. 23, 1891, at Sioux City to Mrs. and Mrs. Joseph Reinboldt.
She was married Aug. 15, 1907, to Charles Torrence at Sac City. Mr. Torrence died in 1938.
On Aug. 7, 1948, she married Gustave Thorn at Estherville. Mrs. Thorn died in 1965.
She was a member of the Royal Neighbors Lodge and a member of the Lutheran Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Gordon (Irene) Kleven, Minneapolis, Minn.; two sons, Robert M. Torrence, Red Oak, Calif.; and Sam Torrence, Estherville; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Reinhardt, Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Frank Ditter, Minneapolis, Minn.; and two brothers, William Reinboldt, Cottonwood, Minn.; and Fred Reinboldt, Phoenix, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, parents, one son, one daughter and 11 brothers and sisters.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Reese-Henry Chapel in Estherville, with the Rev. Stephen Engelsted officiating. The body will lie in state at Reese-Henry Chapel until noon on Tuesday. Reese-Henry Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers are Eugene Bolty, Glen Bolty, Leonard Tangeros, Glen Hackett and Clarence Hackett. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 17, 1971)
