Man’s Death Mystery
Evansville, Ind. – Mystery surrounds the finding of the body of Harry W. Smith face downward on the kitchen floor of his home here by his employer, W. C. Ghormely. Mrs. Smith, who is in the Deaconess hospital where she gave birth to a baby, became alarmed when her husband did not return to the hospital to see her and Ghormley was asked to investigate. An autopsy will be held, Coroner Max Lowe announced. (Linton Daily Citizen, Linton, IN, January 29, 1929)

Brought to Burial for Burial
Harry Smith, only son of Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Smith of Estherville, formerly of Spirit Lake, passed away very suddenly last Saturday [January 26, 1929] at his home in Evansville, Ind. His wife was in the hospital with a babe just two days old, their first child. Death was due to pneumonia.

The body was brought to Estherville and funeral services held at the Methodist church Wednesday. Interment was made at Oak Hill in charge of the Masons, of which Mr. Smith was a member.

He is survived by his wife and child, his parents, and a sister, Miss Ruth, also of Estherville. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, January 31, 1929)
