She was married November 15, 1899, to Edward A. Swanson. Her married life was spent in this locality. Their family consists of five girls, Alvera, Charlotte, Iva, Ella, and Edna.

She was reared in the Lutheran faith, baptized in infancy, and always held the church in high regard. About eight years ago she and her family united with the Methodist church in Estherville. She was a member of the Priscilla Class and cooperated in the work of the church in various ways. She was a good neighbor and faithful friend. Where there was any need for assistance or a neighborly act she was always first to offer her help. But it was in the home that her highest excellence was manifested. She loved her home and was a good housekeeper, mother and wife. Her home was her throne.

She submitted to an operation but her complaint had proceeded too far for her recovery. She passed away Friday evening, at 7:10, aged 42 years. She leaves a husband and five children. Also five sisters, all of whom were present except Ella of Center Point.
