Mrs. Elizabeth Stockdale Passes Away at Omaha
Suffers Stroke of Paralysis Last Week but Pneumonia Immediate Cause of Death
Mrs. Elizabeth Stockdale passed away Saturday, Dec. 9, at the home of her daughter in Omaha. She suffered a stroke of paralysis a week before from which she did not recover, regaining her consciousness only at intervals to recognize her children who were all with her. Her death was caused by pneumonia to which her weakened condition made her susceptible. Burial was made at Walcott, Iowa, the old home of the family.Mrs. Stockdale was well known in Estherville having made her home in this city for a year after coming here in 1906, and having often visited here with her sons. She was not an old lady at the time of her death, having been born Jan. 13, 1857, and had always seemed to enjoy the best of health, so that the message telling of her stroke and later of her death came as a great shock to her many friends.
Besides her three sons, Ed, Allen and Lloyd of this city, Mrs. Stockdale leaves to mourn her passing, two daughters, Mrs. W. L. Baughn of Omaha, Mrs. W. E. Wolfe of Welland, Canada, and five grandchildren. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, December 13, 1922)
