Funeral Services Friday for William Spoo, 71
Final rites for William Spoo, 71, longtime Terril resident, were held Friday, Dec. 4, at the Immanuel Lutheran church in Estherville. Mr. Spoo died Nov. 30 in the Estherville hospital.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Donald Simpson of Spirit Lake and Mrs. Harry Heldt of Terril; and three sons, Everett Spoo of Terril, Harold Spoo of Lakefield, Minn. and Clifford Spoo of Estherville.

Interment was in the Estherville cemetery. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, December 10, 1959)

William Spoo
William Spoo was born November 17, 1888 at Fort Dodge to Gerald and Mary Spoo. He died at the Holy Family hospital in Estherville, November 30. Funeral services were held December 4, at the Immanuel Lutheran church at Estherville with burial being made at Oakhill cemetery.

Mr. Spoo moved with his parents to Estherville shortly after birth. He married Minnie Zerke in 1915 and they established a home on a farm between Terril and Estherville and continued to reside there until 1934 when they purchased a farm west of Terril They moved to Estherville when ill health forced his retirement.

Mr. Spoo became ill more than a year ago and had major surgery at Sioux City last spring. He remained seriously ill and had been confined to his home until he entered the hospital.

Survivors include his widow, three sons, Everett of Terril, Harold of Lakefield, Minn., and Clifford of Estherville; two daughters, Mrs. Harry Heldt (LaVerne) of Estherville and Mrs. Donald Simpson (Mildred) of Spirit Lake. A son, Wilbur, died at infancy. (Milford Mail and Terril Record, Milford, IA, December 17, 1959)
