Funeral services were held for Mrs. Anna Spurling Friday, Jan. 20, from the First Methodist church at 2 p.m. The Rev. Dwight C. Bonham was in charge of the services. Burial was made at Estherville.
Mrs. Spurling passed away early Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Rankin, after an illness of several weeks.
Anna Laura Creviston was born Feb. 9, 1873, in White Heath, Ill., the daughter of Mary and Joseph Creviston. She was united in marriage to James J. Spurling of Hammond, Ill., in July, 1890. Six children were born to this union. The better share of her life was spent in Illinois. She lived in and around Armstrong during her later years.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Joseph Rankin, two sons, Harold of Thompson and Carl of Armstrong. Also six grandchildren, all of Armstrong; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Burton of Montecello, Ill., and Mrs. Irma Lipnight of Mendota, Ill., and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, two daughters, Anna Belle and Lenora, and one son, Harry K. Spurling, her parents and six sisters and four brothers preceded her in death.
