Mrs. Louie Stammer Dies
Mrs. Louie (Ann) Stammer, 64, died about midnight last night at Holy Family Hospital of a lingering illness. She had been in failing health since January.

The former Ann Mabel Seemann was born June 2, 1898, in Clay county to Mr. and Mrs. Chris Seemann. She received her education in Clay county schools and nurse’s training in New York City. She had worked as a nurse in St. Louis, Mo., and Miami, Fla. Previous to marriage Mrs. Stammer made her home with a sister, Mrs. Minnie Rorebeck in Spirit Lake.

Mr. and Mrs. Stammer were married Oct. 15, 1938, in LeMars and had made their home in Estherville since their marriage. Mrs. Stammer was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Pythian Sisters and the Rock Island Woman’s Club.

Mrs. Stammer is survived by her husband, one sister, Mrs. Rorebeck, Spirit Lake, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James K. Lyon officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Sternborg-Reese Funeral home from 9 a.m. on Wednesday until 11 a.m. Thursday at which time the body will be moved to the church to lie in state until the time of the service.
