Mrs. Sorum Funeral is Wednesday
Mrs. Edwin (Rose Ann) Sorum, 76, died at 5:53 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 1972, at Holy Family hospital where she was admitted last Thursday for a heart condition.She was born April 12, 1896, on a farm north of Huntington, Martin county, Minn., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Weir. She attended school at Huntington and was a graduate of Estherville High School.
She was married Jan. 16, 1921, to Edwin Sorum at Emmetsburg and spent most of her married life in Estherville.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Estherville, member and past president of American Legion Auxiliary; member of Order of Eastern Star, Order of White Shrine and Social Order of Beauceant.
She is survived by her husband, two sons, Marvin of Omaha and Merle of Estherville, and seven grandchildren; one brother, Ray Weir of Dunnell, and two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Chambers of Alpha, Minn., and Mrs. Ruby Nichols of Estherville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter and two brothers, Roy and Richard Weir.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Reese-Henry Funeral Chapel with burial in Oak Hill cemetery.
