Joseph Shultz 1894-1977
Estherville – Joseph Lyle Shultz, 83, Estherville, died Tuesday [December 13, 1977] afternoon at Holy Family Hospital.Services for Mr. Shultz will be 11 a.m. at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home Chapel, Estherville, with the Rev. Raymond Wuerch and the Rev. Max Goldman officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
Mr. Shultz was born Jan. 28, 1894, at Storm Lake, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Shultz. He received his education in Newell schools and was married to Minnietta May Van Eman Feb. 7, 1917, at Estherville. He lived in Estherville since his marriage and was a school bus driver for many years.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Harriet) Knode, Pamora, Calif., and Mrs. Jerome (Marjorie) Goering, Orangeville [Orangevale], Calif; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two brothers, Lee Shultz, Estherville, and Burt Shultz, Estherville.
Mr. Shultz was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two sons and one daughter. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 14, 1977)
