Final Rites for Julia Sheltren Set for Today
Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. today for Julia E. Sheltren, 80, Estherville, who died at the Good Samaritan Center last weekend.

She was born March 2, 1888, at Lockport, Ill., to Mr. and Mrs. Swan Holmquist. She was educated in the Lockport area and was married June 20, 1908, to Joseph G. Sheltren at Lockport.

The couple moved to Gruver in 1927 where he was a machinist. They later moved to Estherville in 1931 where she resided until her death.

Her memberships include the First Presbyterian Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She was also a Gold Star Mother.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Marian Sheltren, Estherville; one sister, Mrs. Tillie Fordyce, San Diego; three nieces and one nephew.

The services were to be held at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home Estherville, Rev. H. Allen Wirtz officiating, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Emmet Amdahl, Leo Bradshaw, E. L. Book, Clarence Mathieson, William Henaman and Howard Heidke. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 18, 1968)
