Miss Shartle is Buried Sunday
Funeral services for Miss Mary Shartle, who formerly taught school for several years here, were held Sunday afternoon in the Mahlum and Anderson mortuary chapel, the Rev. A. L. Ragsdale, pastor of the Christian church, officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery. Miss Shartle was 48 years of age. Besides four brothers and sisters, she is survived by a nephew, Max Kent, of Estherville. Miss Shartle left Estherville 15 years ago. She died Wednesday [February 27, 1929] in Cleveland, O. (Estherville News, Estherville, IA, March 7, 1929)
