Thomas Severson was born at Leeds Center, Columbia county, Wis., Feb. 13, 1872, and when yet a child moved with his parents to Lake Mills, Iowa, where he lived 14 years; they then moved to Mitchell, S.D., where they stayed only 6 months when they came to Estherville, Iowa, where he has made his home for the last 32 years with the exception of a few years which he spent working at different places. He belonged to the Lutheran church and was confirmed by Rev. I. M. Dahl, Dec. 7, 1886, at the Court House where services were then held. He died at his mother’s home on 920 N. 9th St., April 5, 1918 from ceroses of the liver from which he has suffered since last fall. He leaves to mourn his departure his mother, Mrs. Anfin Severson, and a sister, Mrs. Chas. Goss. Funeral services were held at the Norwegian Lutheran church and interment made in Oak Hill cemetery, April 8, 2 p.m. Rev. J. J. Akre, officiating.
