Mrs. Sarah Sanders Service Set Friday
Mrs. Sarah Davis Sanders, 79, Estherville, died at 9 p.m. Feb. 20, 1973, at Holy Family Hospital.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Christian Church, Estherville, with the Rev. Robert Miller and the Rev. Fred Sawyer officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

She was born Nov. 28, 1893, at Evans, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. John F. Davis. She received her education in Des Moines Schools and was married to Leo Sanders Aug 4, 1914, at Osceola. For a short time after their marriage, they lived in Des Moines, then moved to Estherville in 1919.

She was a member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Patty Lee) Thompson, Sioux City; three sons, Robert C. Sanders, Cincinnati, Ohio, Lewis Jack Sanders, Iowa City, and William R. Sanders, Des Moines; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Byers, Des Moines; one brother, William Davis, Des Moines; and a brother-in-law who had made his home with the Sanders, Lewis Ralph Sanders.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister.

Serving as pallbearers will be James Towell, Allen Robinson, Harold Sawyer, Ronald Jacobson, Roger Johnson and Merle Grems. Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Estherville. The family has established a memorial to the heart fund. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 22, 1973)
